Autumn Trees: Texture & Colors

  • The Open Art Lab (upstairs at Fine Line Cosmetics & Tattoos) 1036 West Kirkland Avenue Nashville, TN, 37216 United States (map)

Fall comes to life through layers of color, texture, and playful mark-making. Kids will create their own autumn tree using sponge stamping or paper collage, building rich, textured foliage that captures the feeling of the season in a fun and hands-on way.

We’ll explore how to layer warm autumn colors like reds, oranges, yellows, and browns to create depth and movement within the tree. Students will experiment with stamping, tearing, and layering materials to develop texture, while also learning how to arrange elements within the page to create a balanced composition.

Throughout the process, we’ll focus on creativity and exploration—showing how simple techniques can combine to form a complete, expressive scene. Kids are encouraged to make choices, mix colors, and discover their own way of representing a fall landscape.
