Children’s classes are designed primarily for ages 6–10 and center on curiosity, creativity, and hands-on exploration.
Classes are gently structured and open-ended, with demos and guidance that help kids learn new skills while
still following their own ideas.
The focus isn’t on making “perfect” art. Kids are encouraged to experiment, mix things up, and see what happens. Messy, abstract, and unfinished work is all part of the process—trying, adjusting, and discovering matter more than the final result.
In the future, we hope to expand classes for ages 11–14, thoughtfully designed to support growing skills, confidence, and creative independence during an exciting stage of development.

My Colorful Self (Mixed Media Self-Portrait)
In this fun, creative class, kids will design a one-of-a-kind self-portrait by combining part of their own photo with painting and drawing. Through guided prompts, they’ll explore facial features, composition, and imaginative self-expression—turning a simple photo into a vibrant, personalized work of art.
Magic Backgrounds: Watercolor Texture & Collage
In this playful, experiment-filled class, young artists will discover how to turn simple materials into magical, textured backgrounds. We’ll start by exploring fun watercolor techniques—like sprinkling salt and using plastic wrap—to create surprising patterns, bursts of texture, and one-of-a-kind effects. Watching these textures form is part of the magic!
From Movement to Still Life: Line Drawing + Painting
In this dynamic, well-balanced class, young artists will explore two different ways of creating—starting with movement and ending with focus. We’ll begin with expressive line drawing exercises that encourage kids to loosen up, move their hands freely, and build confidence in their marks without worrying about perfection.
Observing Nature: Painting a Fish
We’ll take a close look at a real fish and use it as inspiration for a vibrant, expressive painting. By observing its shapes, patterns, and textures, students will learn how to break down what they see into simple, approachable forms.
Fruit Study: Inside & Outside
This class invites students to take a closer look at everyday fruit in a whole new way—studying both the outside and the inside. By observing real fruit, kids will discover how much detail exists in simple objects, from smooth outer skins to the patterns, seeds, and textures hidden within.
